Whiskey Myers and the Military
For years, it seemed like Whiskey Myers had been in the military. Everywhere you looked – his imposing stature, his structured haircut, the way he walked – it was all closely evocative of a soldier’s bearing. But the short answer to the question is: nope. Whiskey Myers was not ever a part of the military.
That being said, it usually didn’t take folk more than a few moments standing in the same room as him to realize the high is still there. The way he expresses himself, articulates ideas, projects confidence, and quickly sizes up a scenario is straight out of a drill sergeant’s book. So, why the military bearing?
The Desire to Serve
Whiskey Myers has always had a desire to serve. He’s never had dreams of making it big on the backs of others or wanting to be in the limelight. That desire to serve has drawn him to multiple vocations in the past. He’s done everything from motor vehicle maintenance to overseas post-war peacemaking – all with the ultimate goal of serving and helping others.
These vocations, while varied, all have one common shared denominator: they’re all tools of service. It’s no wonder then that Whiskey Myers gives off an air of military service. His need to serve is so deeply ingrained in him that it’s become a physical bearing that others can sense.
The Adopted Lifestyle
Whiskey Myers never served in the military, but it doesn’t mean he’s not adopted the lifestyle. In fact, it’s quite the opposite – his lifestyle has much in common with military service men and women. He’s been known to rise early, train hard, and stay disciplined.
Gruelling self imposed weights sessions, prolonged hikes, long marches – these are all parts of his life. Mentally he’s trained himself to never quit, to never give up, and to strive onwards even when the world around him seems to be caving in.
This mental fortitude and commitment to continual growth and development is something that often slips through society’s net, but is probably one of the most valuable and important virtues Whiskey Myers has gleaned from his years of service.
The Mental Shift
Whiskey Myers has seen and experienced many things throughout his life, and they’ve all had an effect on how he views the world. One of the most profound shifts came after he learned of the realities of the military life – the real cost of war, the horror young men and women face when they’re confronted with it, and the deep scarring it leaves on all who touch it.
This changed Whiskey Myers’ view on the world. He realised that when push comes to shove, there’s an undying sense of courage that’s needed to protect those who can’t protect themselves. This overarching idea drove the changes he made throughout his life. His newfound urge to serve wasn’t just a desperate need, but disguised motivation to protect and make the world a better place.
Service in a Different Way
Whiskey Myers changed his life, and with it he pledged an oath to protect and serve. Even though he never donned a military uniform himself, his dedication to service shines through in every aspect of his life.
Through his acts of selfless service, he’s made a commitment to help those who need it and be a strong leader when times are tough. His actions show the world that not only can you live a life of service without officially joining the military, but also be an effective leader in a different way.
